Farida Mortada is a seasoned legal professional with 15 years of experience spanning banking and finance, renewable energy, and creative industries. She has held roles in project finance and energy law at Baker & McKenzie in Cairo and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London and served as Legal Director at Desert Technologies, leading renewable energy projects across the Middle East and Africa. Currently, she is the Group Legal Counsel at Alsara Investment Group, where she supports innovative ventures at the intersection of art, fashion, and design. Committed to advancing Egypt’s creative industries, Mortada combines her expertise in finance, law, and innovation to help scale globally competitive, sustainable brands. A faculty member of the Masters Program in Law & Economics at Cairo University since 2019, she teaches courses on fostering legal frameworks for economic and creative growth. Mortada holds an S.J.D. and LL.M. from Harvard Law School, an LL.B. from Cairo University, and a B.A. in Economics from the American University in Cairo.
