“Sherif Desouky, born in Alexandria, Egypt, developed a passion for theater from an early age, influenced by his father, the director of the Ismail Yassin Theater since 1952. Over time, Desouky worked in almost all theater roles, including as a sound and stage technician. However, following the demolition of Alexandria’s summer theaters, including Ismail Yassin’s Theater, he transitioned to working with culture palaces and independent theater groups from 1990 onward.

Desouky began his cinematic career in 2003 with limited experience, starting with the film “”Violence and Irony”” directed by Asma El Bakry, the short films “”Hawi”” and “”Hot Dry in Summer””, and a role in the 2012 series “”As Roses””. His collaboration with director Ahmed Abdullah Al-Sayed during the filming of “”Microphone”” in 2010 led to his casting as Mustafa in the film Night/Ext. This role caught the attention of director Kamla Abu Zekry, who demanded that the producing company at work, Al-Adl Group, be part of the 2020 Ramadan series “”With 100 Faces”” released in Ramadan 2020, where Desouky delivered a standout performance as Seba’i, marking his first major dramatic appearance after following the “”As Roses”” series.

In addition to acting, Dessouky directed several plays, including “”Nothing But””, which he presented with “”Barah”” theater band. Known for his storytelling and improvisation skills, he earned acclaim as a masterful weaver of narratives on stage.”
