Ideation Round 2023

About the Program

Our ideation rounds are dedicated to supporting idea stage entrepreneurs operating in the handicrafts and performing arts sectors. It aims to provide participants with a platform to gain fundamental entrepreneurial knowledge and skills in order to further develop their ideas into scalable and sustainable models that can have a positive impact on society.

These rounds are part of El Garage program which aims to revive the appreciation of Egyptian identity, art, culture, and history using social entrepreneurship as a main tool.

The program is supported by Drosos Foundation and implemented by Nahdet El Mahrousa.

Eligibility Criteria

1

Applicants should have a well-defined startup idea in the performing arts or handicrafts sectors with a clear social and/or environmental impact

2

The founders of the idea should have at least a preliminary plan to execute the idea

3

The founders should be Egyptians between 21-35 years old

4

The team of founders should include a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 individuals

Round Stages

All applications will be reviewed against the below-mentioned criteria. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted in April and invited for interviews shortly after.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a 4/5-day bootcamp to ideate/validate their business model.

As part of our dedication to prioritizing the health and safety of our participants, some activities will be held online. Participants will be informed ahead.

Startups will pitch in front of a selection panel. And 5 teams will be awarded 15,000 EGP

Interested startups will have access to up to two consultations on business models and/or for legal advice within 6 months of selection.
