Nahdet El Mahrousa (NM) is an Egyptian not-for-profit, non-governmental organization (NPO/NGO) that builds the capacities of organizations to expand their social impact. We do so by offering customized programs and resources to social enterprises and civil society organizations, and by creating a strong community that links together youth and social innovators with civil society operators, private sector organizations, academic institutions, government agencies, and international organizations. 

Position Title:              Program Officer

Position Location:      17 Qasr El Nile Street, Cairo, Egypt

Position Duration:       One year contract (renewable upon performance appraisal)

About the Position

The Program Officer assists and contributes to following up and evaluating a variety of activities implemented in different Nahdet El Mahrousa peograms. The role primarily ensures the quality and timelines of implementation in accordance to the agreements in place with various project partners. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a keen interest in social entrepreneurship. Primarily, he/she will work closely with the Partnership Manager on tasks that include but are not limited to:

  • Tracking program progress in alignment with logical frameworks.
  • Collecting, entering, and analyzing data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Generating donor-driven monitoring and evaluation, as well as progress reports.
  • Conducting field visits to implement programs and monitor progress.
  • Assisting the M&E Manager in designing and testing new data collection tools and their corresponding databases whenever necessary.
  • Proposing suggestions on how to improve project activities based on collected data.
  • Managing all logistical aspects of their activities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a relevant university degree and have a minimum of five years of professional experience in a related field.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or economics or any other related field.
  • 2 years of experience in the field of civil work, preferably with experience in the field of monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience with research and analytics.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, including: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • An understanding of social entrepreneurship.
  • An understanding of program management, evaluation and monitoring.
  • Ability to deal with youth from different backgrounds.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.

Travel Requirements

Some travel to the governorates might be required.
