Nahdet El Mahrousa (NM) is an Egyptian not-for-profit, non-governmental organization (NPO/NGO) that builds the capacities of organizations to expand their social impact. We do so by offering customized programs and resources to social enterprises and civil society organizations, and by creating a strong community that links together youth and social innovators with civil society operators, private sector organizations, academic institutions, government agencies, and international organizations. 

Position Title:                   Communications Coordinator 

Position Location:           17 Qasr El Nil, Downtown 

Position Duration:           One year contract (renewable upon performance appraisal) 

Reports to:                      Communications Officer

About the Position

The communications coordinator will work with the team and contribute to the delivery of an effective marketing and communications plan. The communications coordinator will execute all social media campaigns according to the department’s strategy while working with the communications team on ensuring proper outreach to NM’s partners and target audience as well as improving existing processes.

The communications coordinator will be responsible for content creation and for delivering messages through our different social media and digital mediums.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The duties of the social enterprises support manager include, but are not limited to:  

∙ Execute NM’s social media campaigns across different platforms to align with marketing & communications strategy

∙ Respond to inquiries & comments on social platforms in a timely manner ∙ Capture and segmet NM’s contact database to implement successful email campaigns

∙ Monitor and provide feedback on engagement/conversion via social media channels to communications team

∙ Work with communications team on developing metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adapt or pivot accordingly

∙ Stay up-to-date with the latest industry and digital trends

∙ Attend and cover events (trainings, workshops, bootcamps, etc.) as required

∙ Build and nurture relationships with NM’s online community, other entrepreneurship ecosystem players, and community partners

∙ Continuously research our target demographics and adapt to their evolving needs and demands

∙ Perform other tasks with the communications team as required


The ideal candidate is a dynamic, socially savvy individual, who networks with ease and enjoys connecting like-minded people. Ideally, the candidate would also have:

∙ Demonstrated experience in social media as well as print and electronic communication and is aware of the new social media trends

∙ 1-2 years of experience in marketing/communications, preferably including experience working in a team, or is social/digital media savvy. 

∙ Demonstrated passion for startups and social entrepreneurship

∙ A strong appetite for learning, professional development, and for acquiring new skills ∙ A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on handling a variety of initiatives concurrently

∙Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to transform information into compelling messages in English and Arabic

∙ Highly collaborative style and strong interpersonal skills

∙ Analytical and data-driven with a commitment to testing and measuring effectiveness of campaigns and programs

∙ Sharp attention to detail

∙ Experience with Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Canva, and/or other alternative digital tools is a strong asset

∙ Experience with SEO, WordPress, and email marketing is a strong asset

∙ Disciplined and sets own deadlines

Travel Requirements

Some travel to the governorates is required.
