At NM, we leverage the ideas and power of social innovators to tackle Egypt's toughest social challenges. We believe Egypt’s young professionals have what it takes to address our problems. At NM, we offer a platform for building social enterprises, along with a network of supportive, like-minded people, to help turn our dreams into reality.
Our work centers on the concepts of social entrepreneurship and social enterprise/start-ups. Over the past 8 years, NM has supported more than 40 social start-ups and enterprises from a wide range of fields. Our currently incubated social start-ups impact over 50,000 beneficiaries annually
At Nahdet el Mahrousa, our extended network consists of Egyptians who are passionate about social entrepreneurship and committed to building Egypt together and from within. Since its inception, NM has been open platform for innovators, social entrepreneurs, and the development community. These individuals gather to further their mission, meet like-minded people, learn about current issues, transform perceived challenges into opportunities, and find meaningful ways to contribute to Egypt’s development.

”To have fun is our serious business” Red Tomato is a theatre group that aims to create high standard drama practices serving to develop the society, with a focus on the marginalized, such as refugees, street children and low-income communities. Red Tomato gives opportunities to learn and to express points of view that might otherwise never be heard. We are a team of artists from different backgrounds and nationalities who came together with the belief that change is important and can be fun, and that learning should be pleasurable and collaborative!
Core Social Enterprise Objectives: To develop high standard Drama practices serving to develop the society.
Street clowning: propose alternative uses for public space and reach new audiences.
Social theatre: Advocacy - vulnerable groups find a medium to express their own point of view; Empowerment - people learn to build relations of trust and to discover their own capacities as creators and performers; Pedagogy of participation provides more attractive, entertaining and critical educational tools; Therapeutic process we liberate our bodies and minds through laughter and fun in game-playing and drama.
Produce and Perform Street Clown shows all over Egypt for disadvantaged communities;
Teaching social drama workshops to social workers and other educators

Hany Taher – Graduate of Alexandria Drama Institute 2005. Actor’s experience both from the streets and classical theatre, as well as cinema and TV.
Aly Sobhy – Performer educated through a long practice on the streets. He has also appeared in various cinema, TV and video productions.
Diana Calvo – Social Education graduate, UNED (Spain), 2011. Her aim is to mix social, educational and artistic work to provoke positive changes.
Jakob Lindfors: With a fully practical theatrical education, he works with social theatre in Egypt since 2001.
Ahmed Mostafa: Envolved in theatre since young years, as actor, singer and director, he now concentrates on Street Clowning.
