Ahmed Huzayyin was born in Cairo, Egypt. He received his PhD from the electrical and computer engineering (ECE) Department, University of Toronto, in 2011. He is currently an assistant professor at the electrical power and machines (EPM) department, faculty of engineering, Cairo University, Egypt. He is also an assistant professor (status only) at the ECE department, University of Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Huzayyin's research is in the area of clean technologies with focus on issues related energy storage and small scale renewables. As a consultant, Dr. Huzayyin has been involved in policy development in the field of energy as well as sustainable development projects which are based on clean technology applications. Representing Chemonics Egypt and Cleantech Arabia, Dr. Huzayyin is the project manager of the UNIDO project of supporting entreprneurship in Southern Upper Egypt for employability.
